youth and family ministry coordinator
This person will play a vital role in creating and implementing a new ministry at the Presbyterian Church in Geneva (PCG). This ministry will provide opportunities for youth and our families with children to grow in knowledge and practice of faith, as well as deepening community connections, both for the existing membership and Geneva as a whole.
Responsibilities
Develop or access curriculum, offer primary leadership, supervise volunteers, and communicate with participants and broader community for: (1) shared education opportunities for families with children/youth; (2) fellowship programs for youth (7th-12th grade); and (3) Christian Education.
Cooperate with Christian Education Committee to support Sunday School program.
Coordinate with other staff and ministries for facility use and programming.
Support the church's commitment to fully inclusive programming.
Attend Staff/Session meetings as requested.
Other duties as required.
Schedule
This is an 11-month position with one month off during the summer. The work will be approximately 12 hours per week (10 hours for family and youth activities, and 2 hours for Sunday School support). Additional hours for special mission and fellowship programs will be paid with prior approval of the Head of Staff and Session.
Qualifications
Highly motivated to partner with pastor and other leaders in creating a new program.
Excellent communication skills, both in-person and electronic, including social media.
Administratively organized.
To align with our youth and children's protection policy, we require that the individual be a minimum of 5 years older than our oldest youth participant (up to Senior in High School).
Successfully clear other screening as required.
Person of active Christian faith practice.
Experience with leading educational programs.
Flexibility and willingness to serve on a team.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Accountability
This position is accountable to the Head of Staff and Session.
Compensation
$13,000 to $16,000 commensurate with experience ($23 to $25 per hour).

maintenance groundSkeeper
General Responsibilities
Provide basic maintenance services for church building and grounds.
Maintain grounds, including mowing lawn, caring for flower beds, removing snow from sidewalks and entrances, and ensuring grounds equipment is in good working order.
Make minor repairs inside the church building as needed, and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Assist with setting up and tearing down for events, church services, and meetings as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
Typical schedule
Variable days and hours, depending on seasonal demands and event scheduling.
Up to 15 hours per week.
Sunday mornings, approximately 7 to 8 a.m., to clear sidewalks and entrances when required.
Compensation
$20 per hour
Qualifications
Previous experience in lawn care, groundskeeping and maintenance of outdoor equipment.
Knowledge of best practices and safe use of supplies and equipment.
Experience in making minor repairs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required.

janitor
General Responsibilities
Keep church building clean and well maintained, following established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
Track inventory of janitorial supplies.
Report any repairs needed.
Supervise the Assistant Custodian as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
Typical schedule
15 hours per week.
Monday through Friday, 3 hours per day.
Schedule to be determined in consultation with the Head of Staff.
Compensation
$20 per hour
Qualifications
Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
Ability to operate floor care equipment, such as buffers and carpet cleaners.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Ability to maintain a weekly schedule of janitorial tasks and complete them as scheduled.
Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
